The Eilean Dorcha Festival (EDF) announced today its partnership with the country’s largest salmon aquaculture company, Mowi.

“EDF are delighted to have attracted Mowi as sponsors of the event which highlights the company’s commitment to supporting the local community of Uist and Benbecula. We are thrilled to welcome Mowi on board, a partnership with a company of Mowi’s size and prestige shows how far EDF has come since the first Festival in 2016,” says Roddy MacKay, EDF Development Manager. “Partnering with Mowi helps to sustain the Festival for the future and we hope that this is just the start of a long and fruitful relationship with the country’s largest salmon aquaculture company. EDF and Mowi look forward to bringing Benbecula locals and visitors an exciting and family-fun event at the end of the month.”

In addition to providing cash sponsorship, Mowi is excited to attend the event with its brand new ‘Salmon Wagon’ food truck, serving delicious salmon burgers to Festival guests. All proceeds from salmon sales will also be donated to EDF.

“We are very happy to be in a position to partner with EDF, and to ensure the Festival is again a smash hit,” says Mowi’s Uist area manager, Kris Laird. “Our employees look forward to attending the event and serving up some delicious barbequed salmon in support of EDF.”

Mowi is Scotland’s largest salmon company, employing 1500 people and supplying the UK’s top food export for markets around the world.

The Eilean Dorcha Festival is Uist’s annual Summer Music Festival taking place on July 26-28 at Liniclate Machair.
